Our COVID-19 Update:
If you’re anything like us, your world and priorities have been shifting dramatically in response to COVID-19 these past days. Quite frankly, where to go from here is still a mystery for us too. Like many of you out there, we lay awake in bed at night and our minds can’t help but spin at times. In our better moments, we are doing our best to problem solve and envision ways we can help flatten the curve and serve.
While it is true that there is a lot we cannot do — and choose to not do to protect our most vulnerable — we also know our imagination has no limits for what we can do.
While we are facing so much uncertainly, we are certain our gifts can, if we are brave, serve our community and beyond in the best way possible. This gives us plenty to contemplate and we are blessed that we have some time and space to do so.
I believe most of us are all learning at a rapid rate that self-care is paramount in times like these, especially so we don’t become overwhelmed. We know we need to reach out in new ways and lean into one another with our hearts so we can then in turn care for our children, our parents, our most vulnerable and beyond.
Before this pandemic unfolded, Iris Pictures was already in motion for a fresh direction (we are already officially operating under our new name: Iris Pixels) and we will continue our commitment on this path moving forward, navigating as we go along. Stay tuned for some upcoming developments from us in due time.
For now, whether it is creating uplifting content, or educational content, or nature content, or content produced collaboratively with our children, or movie reviews to help others enjoy streaming some entertaining content, we are optimistic that as artists we have a particular role to play in all this. We will continue to dedicate our creative energy towards doing what we can to help the spirits of those around us rise above.
We are aware that the market is shifting and while some elements of our society plummet, more people are about to consume content than ever. We cannot deny that is inevitable for an indefinite period that gatherings will be converting into digital possibilities. Video was already running at the dawn of this decade as our essential form of art and communication. And now it is sprinting.
It may feel difficult to keep up with all the changes but know you got this.
As makers, we wanted to reach out to you and listen to any content cravings you may have. Maybe you want inspiring stories? Or facts presented in a way our children can absorb? Maybe you want someone to help make you laugh? Or get your tears out. Or escape. Or connect on a deeper level.
We are listening and appreciate any input you may have. Please post any comments or requests you feel inspired to post below and we will definitely consider it as we map out our mission.
